- 2 cups plain flour
- 8g sachet of dried yeast
- 1 teaspoon castor sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ¾ cup of warm water
- 1 tablespoon mixed herbs (optional)
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic (optional)
Method:
- Combine dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl and mix well.
- Add oil and water and mix thoroughly into a dough.
- Knead on a clean floured surface until the pizza dough is soft. Add flour to the surface to stop sticking as you go.
- Return the pizza dough to the mixing bowl and cover with a damp tea towel for 30 minutes. The dough is ready when it has doubled in size.
- Slam the pizza dough down onto the floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute to press out any air bubbles.
- Roll the pizza dough recipe out to desired size and add you favoutite toppings.
Variation:
A plain pizza recipe or topping can be brough to life with a simple variation of the pizza dough recipe, add mixed herbs to the dough and / or warm the pizza base sauce with minced garlic before applying.
